STEPHEN LEES
BA, MSc, MCIEEM
Stephen is an experienced ecological and forestry consultant with a strong background in contract delivery and management. His practical contracting background means that his consultancy work has a strong emphasis on practical solutions. As SW Recreation Manager for the Forestry Commission, and Chair of BTCV (formerly) he has a good understanding of voluntary organisations and the charity sector.

MATT JACKSON
MCIHort
Matt worked 20 years for the National Trust as gardener, Head Gardener and Estate Manager before moving into landscape consultancy. Matt specialises in landscape design and conservation, and has an intuitive understanding of heritage landscapes. He is also an experienced arboricultural specialist and professional tree inspector. Matt has detailed knowledge of charity management and change at a senior level, particularly within the heritage sector.

NIC HARRISON-WHITE
DipHE, HND
Nic is an experienced ecologist who came to us from Cornwall Wildlife Trust. Formerly Wildlife Information Manager, his species identification and habitat assessment knowledge is excellent, built over 20 years working in the field. Nic is a GIS and data specialist, which enables him to analyse and present information in creative ways.

MEGAN DALTON
BSc
Megan graduated from Plymouth University in 2020 with a First Class (Hons) degree in Conservation Biology. She has worked for the British Trust for Ornithology undertaking woodland surveys, before joining Land & Heritage in 2021. Megan is rapidly developing a specialism in woodland conservation, and veteran tree surveying.

TAMAR POWLESLAND
FdSc
Tamar joined us in 2021 as our Woodlands and Countryside Manager. Her previous role as a countryside ranger at Mount Edgcumbe House and Country Park blends a strong practical background with wider arboricultural and habitat planning experience. Tamar is a QTRA and Lantra PTI qualified tree surveyor, and is responsible for delivering tree planting and habitat creation projects.

SIMON HUMPHREYS
BSc, MSc, MCIEEM (RTD)
Simon has over 36 years professional and managerial experience in the ecology, forestry and wildlife conservation sector. He has worked with a wide range of landowners and understands the current constraints and opportunities for farmers, developers, local authorities and utility firms. As senior ecologist within the civil engineering sector he has significant experience working on major public infrastructure projects. He is chair of the Friends of Stara Wood which is a 45 acre community woodland in Cornwall.

CLAIRE FOXFORD (ASSOCIATE)
BSc, MA, CMLI
Claire is an extremely experienced landscape architect having worked within local authorities and the housing and development sector. She is a creative green space designer, with strong skills that integrate landscape design into development projects. She is used to working with large teams on complex projects, and in designing places for people. Claire also undertakes landscape and visual assessments (LVA,LVIA).

KEITH ROLFE (ASSOCIATE)
BSc, DipTP, DMS, MTRPI
Keith is a valued associate with a long career as an urban and rural planning practitioner. Previously Head of Development and Building Control, and Head of Spatial Planning for Caradon District Council, Keith is an extremely experienced planning and development consultant. Land & Heritage support him in a range of landscape based planning services.

FRANZISKA HARMAN
Garden Supervisor (Contract)
Franziska is an experienced gardener and garden designer, contracted to work at Leeds Castle in Kent. She joined the team in 2020, and provides valuable leadership skills, most notably to the growing number of volunteer gardeners. She oversees the professional maintenance of the formal gardens, and provides training and support.

JULIE CLARE
Gardener (Contract)
Julie is a gardener contracted to work at Leeds Castle in Kent. She started as a volunteer gardener, whilst undertaking her RHS horticultural qualifications. She joined our team in 2020, and is continuing with her training alongside her gardening work.
