Principal Woodland and Forestry Consultant
Stuart Wood
Stuart specialises in complex woodland management and woodland creation schemes throughout the southwest of England. He has a background in contracting work, bringing a practical and realistic mind to woodland management. He leads our woodland and forestry team in design, grant application and getting trees in the ground following UK Forestry Standard best practice
Principal Ecology Consultant
Melissa Wynn
Melissa leads our ecology team in delivering on impact assessment and protected species surveys and reports and advising on complex mitigation design and biodiversity enhancement for a range of projects. With a background in science-based species conservation, ecotourism and consultancy she has a genuine understanding of finding innovative solutions for both wildlife and people that really work in practice.

Matt Jackson
As a founding member of Land and Heritage, Matt leads the company with a focus on strategic developments and client relationships. He remains involved with complex heritage projects involving the conservation and development of landscapes, and with putting together teams on projects with multiple disciplines.
Ecologist
Nic Harrison-White
Nic is an experienced ecologist who came to us from Cornwall Wildlife Trust. Formerly the Wildlife Information Manager, his botanical species identification and habitat assessment knowledge is excellent. Nic is a GIS and data specialist, which enables him to analyse and present information in creative ways. He also has a Class 2 bat licence, is skilled in UK Habitat assessments and is qualified for River Condition Assessment.
Ecologist
Megan Dalton
Megan is an experienced field ecologist, skilled in species and habitat assessment, impact assessment and mitigation. She has specialised in Biodiversity Net Gain assessments, underpinned by UK Habitat assessment and River Condition Assessment. She holds a dormouse licence, undertakes reptile surveys, and works with farmer and landowners on bespoke ecological enhancement projects.
Woodland and Countryside Manager
Tamar Davis
Tamar is a QTRA and Lantra PTI qualified tree surveyor, carrying out a range of arboricultural surveys and reports, including BS5837, tree safety and veteran tree management. She also leads the contracting team responsible for delivering tree planting and habitat creation projects, and the ongoing establishment and management of woodlands.
Woodland and Forestry Consultant
Kieran Venton
Kieran works on a range of woodland assessment, management and creation projects for private landowners and grant funded projects. He is skilled in site appraisal, new woodland creation and woodland enhancement opportunities. Kieran has an excellent understanding of current funding streams for a range of options, and a special interest in agroforestry.
Woodland and Forestry Assistant
James Nevens
James is primarily involved with delivery of woodland creation projects and practical woodland management. This includes tree planting on a large scale and establishment of young trees. James was previously an Automotive Engineer, joining Land and Heritage to start a new career in woodland and land management.
Business Admin
Michelle Carter
Some folk are hard to pin down for a photo! Michelle is our business administrator and essential to the smooth running of the company. She directs enquiries to individual team members and ensures financial element is all in order. Michelle also organises the board of directors and is responsible for company procedures.
Garden Supervisor
Franziska Harman
Franziska is an experienced gardener and garden designer, contracted to work at Leeds Castle in Kent. She joined the team in 2020, and provides valuable leadership skills, most notably to the growing number of volunteer gardeners. She oversees the professional maintenance of the formal gardens, and provides training and support.

Simon Humphreys
A founding member of Land and Heritage, Simon has now retired from active service. He continues to contribute strategically with over 38 years professional and managerial experience in the ecology, forestry and wildlife conservation sector. As a former principal ecologist within the civil engineering sector he has significant experience working on major public infrastructure projects.
Landscape Architect
Claire Foxford
Claire is an extremely experienced landscape architect having worked within local authorities and the housing and development sector. She is a creative green space designer, with strong skills that integrate landscape design into development projects. She is used to working with large teams on complex projects, and in designing places for people. Claire also undertakes landscape and visual assessments (LVA, LVIA).
